The Jezzine Authority of the Free Patriotic Movement commented on the position of MP Saeed Al-Asmar regarding the leaflets distributed in the Jezzine region.
She said that the publications come as part of a campaign carried out by the youth sector in various Lebanese regions in objection to the general amnesty law and the positions of the representatives who supported it.
She pointed out that the leaflets included pictures in the form of a judicial record of the representatives who supported the amnesty law, in a political expression of protest against a law that the movement considers to have included convicts, criminals and terrorists, including those involved in the killing of members, non-commissioned officers and officers of the army and security forces.
The Free Patriotic Party was surprised by the attempt to move the issue from its natural place to the security track, and to portray an announced political campaign as if it were an act of intimidation with unknown origin.
She addressed Al-Asmar, saying: You have the right to disagree with the content of the posts and to respond to them politically, and you have the right to resort to the competent authorities if you have information about an actual threat.
She stressed that "in Jezzine, political accountability is not faced by summoning security," pointing out that whoever votes in Parliament must "be prepared to confront the people with his position."
